I am surrounded both by natural beauty and interesting people through my many travels. I use my camera to document the world and then print images with a focus on the magic I find in daily life. My pictures tell my stories.
My love for photography started when I took a photography class in high school at the age of 16 and I have been taking photos ever since. As you all know, cameras have changed a lot since the late 70’s and I had a huge learning curve over the years, but I am happy to say that new technology has helped simplify some techniques. In 2007 I started making photography my passion and career. I started by showing my work in galleries as well as participating in lots of very fun art shows. From there I went on to working for two magazines and photographing events and families as well as portrait work. But my absolute favorite type of photography has always been Travel Photography. This is why I include photo classes in all my tours. I love to teach people how to take better travel photos so that they an cherish these wonderful photos and memories for the rest of their lives.
Love of Travel, Love of Photography and Love of Food has turned a passion into: Wine, Food & Photo Tours.
Italian – let me clarify that – my grandparents were from Italy – so I guess that qualifies me as an Italian. Really I am an American of Italian Heritage – but maybe because my Grandmother was a huge part of my life I identify most with the Italian side of the family. I remember her cooking wonderful Italian food in the kitchen and me giving her a helping hand. I especially loved our Italian Christmas Eve celebrations “Italian Style”.
The family all came to together to eat grandma’s wonderful Italian food! We didn’t have the traditional American turkey; we had the full Italian Feast! Grandma made sure there was plenty of food for everyone and then some! She ground the pork by hand to make homemade Italian sausage, homemade pizza, lasagna, chicken and our favorite biscotti and cannoli. Her food was to die for! She was loving and kind and with 17 grandchildren and 10 aunts and uncles she would crochet each and everyone of us hats, slippers or a scarf and it would take her from Christmas to Christmas Eve the following year to finish. We would all chuckle once we opened our gifts and tried them on. She would use brightly colored, variegated yarn that many of us teenagers would not be caught dead wearing – but she was my Italian grandmother – always loving, always kind, caring and always put family first. Right before she passed away in 2002 she left behind the greatest gift to her family – her special Italian recipes. I will be forever grateful because I now cook those same recipes for my family!
